Traveler of the Month
Jaclyn Hall, RN
November 2007

What an honor to be selected “Traveler of the Month”! I grew up in Wichita, Kansas but when I was a little older I moved to Manhattan...Manhattan, Kansas that is! I'm a Kansas girl through and through! I attended nursing school in El Dorado, Kansas. Upon graduation I went back to Wichita to work at Wesley Medical Center to gain my year of experience....then I started traveling! I had seen an ad for Travel Nurse across America when I had only been out of school for 6 months and gave them a call. Derek was my recruiter and he helped me through every step of becoming a travel nurse.

Travel Nursing was the perfect career for me to accompany my husband, Evan, as he trains to become a chiropractor. It is also the perfect career for me as a mother of two boys, Austin (5yrs.) and Jack (2yrs.)…I am able to work just three days a week and be home with my boys the rest of the week!

Beyond the fantastic schedule and the flexibility travel nursing offers, there is also the benefit of gaining a wealth of experience. I began my career as a CCU nurse, but since I began traveling I’ve gained experience in surgical, burn, neuro and medical ICU nursing.

I have traveled as far away as Tulsa, Oklahoma; but I have mostly stayed in my home state of Kansas. I am currently working just 2 ½ hours from my family and I love being so close to home. I would eventually like to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then go on to nurse anesthetists’ school...but for now I am going to just keep “traveling”!
