Maricopa Medical Center is a full-service, 449-bed hospital that sees nearly 20,000 inpatient admissions every year. Our hospital features advanced medical services including burn care, pediatric and adult emergency care, and has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report in its report on "America's Best Hospitals" for excellence in respiratory disorders, urology, medical care, education and research.

At Maricopa Medical Center, we are proud of our areas of special care. Our Level I Trauma Center and Emergency Center cares for a wide range of critical injuries. About 50,000 patients receive urgent and emergency care in the center each year. Our modern 20-room labor and delivery suite awaits prospective parents with all the comforts of home in state-of-the-art surroundings. Approximately 5,000 babies are born at MMC each year.

Maricopa Medical Center also boasts one of only three NICU's in the Valley. The NICU provides highly specialized care for up to 40 critically ill and premature newborns. Additionally, the pediatric emergency department at Maricopa Medical Center is the only pediatric emergency department in the Valley open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with pediatric emergency physicians and pediatric emergency nurses dedicated to kids. The pediatric emergency department at MMC cares for more than 20,000 children annually. Renovated and expanded in 1997, our state-of-the-art PICU provides critical care for children up to age 18.

On your time away from our wonderful facility, there is plenty to do and see!  Every year tourists flock to Phoenix in order to take advantage of our warm weather and sunny skies. Visitors will find a great many areas of open land within the city where outdoor activities can be enjoyed. South Mountain Park contains 58-miles of hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails and is the largest municipal park in the world.

At night the downtown area is alive with many after-hours activities, ranging from major sports events to performing arts.

Culturally, Phoenix has a rich Native American and pioneer history which is reflected in our fantastic museums. The most famous is the Heard, which houses the world's finest collection of Native American art and artifacts.

The city is perhaps best known for golf. With more courses per capita than any other state in the west, the Greater Phoenix area accommodates nearly 2.5 million golfers per year.
