Swedish Medical Center
Seattle, Washington

When you think of taking a travel assignment in Seattle, Washington what comes to mind? The iconic Space Needle or the breathtaking skyline? Perhaps the grunge rock scene? Or maybe your only exposure has been the weekly hospital soap, Grey’s Anatomy? No matter what your view of Seattle has been, you might be more amazed by what you haven’t seen.

“Rain forest” probably isn’t the first thing you picture when you think of Washington, yet Olympic National Forest is exactly that. There you will find rain forest valleys, a stunning variety of plants and animals, Pacific Ocean beaches, AND glacier-capped peaks!

If you’re a wine connoisseur, you’ll be happy to learn that Washington’s number of wineries has grown from 19 in 1981 to more than 400 (and counting) today! More than 20 wine grape varieties grow well in the area. The leading red varieties include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, and leading white varieties include Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

If you love wildlife, then you can hop a ferry to The San Juan Islands. The archipelago consists of 172 islands, each with their own name. Three major islands (with ferry service) are Lopez, Orcas and San Juan Island. These islands are home to marvelous creatures such as bald eagles, harbor seals, river otters and killer whales.

Of course, these are just some of the beginnings. Don’t forget that you can parasail over Puget Sound, or immerse yourself in Seattle’s thriving art scene and nightlife!

Yet another impressive feature of Seattle is Swedish Medical Center. Since 1910, Swedish Medical Center has been the region’s hallmark for excellence in health care. In fact, in an independent research study conducted by the National Research Corp., Swedish is consistently named the area's best hospital with the best doctors, nurses and overall care in a variety of specialty areas.

Swedish is a large, nonprofit health care system with three main hospital locations in Seattle and is affiliated with many other suburban hospitals and clinics. In addition to being a consistent, award-winning medical community, Swedish is also a pioneer in the health care field. It opened the first cancer-care center west of the Mississippi seventy-five years ago, and today they continue to offer the Northwest’s leading, and largest, cancer-care program.

It is also widely recognized as the state's most comprehensive source for advanced cardiovascular care. The Swedish Heart & Vascular Institute is affiliated with more than 90 cardiac and vascular specialists, including cardiologists, surgeons, radiologists, anesthesiologists and vascular specialists. When you add in other great features (such as the renowned Neuroscience Institute), and services such as orthopedic surgery, specialized surgery, organ transplant, pediatric specialty care, childbirth services and bariatric surgery, you can see that Swedish is one of the premier hospitals in the country! The only question to ask yourself is, “Why haven’t I already set up my assignment to Seattle with TNAA?”

Call your recruiter now, 800-240-2526, because Seattle is waiting for you!
