Featured Hospital Hillside Hospital
Pulaski, Tennessee
Interview with: Amanda Black, RN
Medical-Surgical Director
Hillside Hospital is a small community hospital that allows us to extend ourselves to everyone around us. We are a strong
family-oriented facility that never hesitates to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
I can still remember the first day I walked into Hillside Hospital to apply for a job. I was given a tour of the facility that day and
introduced to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nursing Administrative Secretary, and many others on that first day. I knew at that
moment that Hillside Hospital was where I needed to be. The warm welcome I received and all the smiling faces that greeted
me reassured me that I would be making the right decision -- a decision I have never regretted! I never received such a
response from any other hospital where I had applied for a position. The people at Hillside Hospital are now my family and
anyone that walks into our facility can see how close-knit we are.
A traveler story that I remember fondly is about a traveler named Carla who was from sunny California. The memory that
stays with all of us the most is that Carla would come into work with her huge fuzzy, furry snow boots and over-sized
ankle-length fur coat and the temperature outside was between 40-50 degrees. This was cold weather for her!!! We still
laugh about her walking into work all decked out like that.
My favorite part about working with Travel Nurse across America is definitely the people who work there. They are always so
pleasant, professional, efficient and helpful whenever I speak to any of them. My contact, Patrick Beam, is always on top of
things, keeps me informed, and is truly dedicated to help Hillside Hospital in any way.
It has been a treat to be able to work
with Travel Nurse across America and I hope to be able to continue to work with them in the future!
